Description

Marketing Manager

FULL-TIME | REMOTE
Reporting To: CEO, with heavy collaboration with the Director of Growth
Ideal Start Date: December 1, 2025 (Flexible)
* Please note at this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are legally authorized to work in Canada. This includes Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and individuals who already hold a valid work permit. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide visa sponsorship or engage international contractors (including those based in the U.S.A.) for this role.

At Moniker, we create corporate retreats and travel experiences that help remote teams connect, inspire, and grow. As our core corporate retreat business (Moniker) expands, and we prepare to launch a new business line (which we will delve into more detail with successful candidates), we’re looking for a Marketing Manager who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, and is ready to guide us into the next phase of our growth.

The Marketing Manager role will shape how Moniker shows up to the world: what prospective customers see/hear/read about us, how we attract and manage inbound interest, and what the brand strategy is in the coming years. They will help drive measurable growth for our business through their efforts, while also elevating Moniker’s brand and profile in the marketplace. What was once several people in the company wearing one or two hats, we’re hoping to consolidate into one superstar who’s comfortable wearing many - (a Jack or Jill of all trades, and a master of some, so to speak!).

You’ll work closely with the CEO and Director of Growth to set the playbook, then be expected to roll up your sleeves to make sure it gets executed, whether by yourself directly or by overseeing a handful of freelancers, external agencies, and/or fractional partners as necessary to help you execute your job effectively. Over time, as the role evolves, we envision this person potentially overseeing a small Marketing team, bringing many of these functions in-house together under one unified umbrella under the guidance and leadership of the successful candidate as they grow into a Director-level role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning
  • Working in collaboration with the CEO & Director of Growth, evaluate the current marketing strategy and create a new comprehensive plan for 2026 and beyond to drive qualified demand and enhance brand awareness across all channels (SEM, SEO, Social Media, Outbound, Earned, etc.)
  • Define annual marketing goals, help establish budget needs, and determine OKRs in alignment with company objectives for both the main business (Moniker) and new business line (launching in early 2026).
  • Continuously monitor and report on marketing performance, making recommendations and adjustments to the strategy based on data-driven insights and intuition of where we should be (re)allocating our resources as needs evolve.

Growth & Lead Generation
  • Manage and oversee our Paid Advertising strategy (SEM/Google Ads, Social, Retargeting), to measure the effectiveness of current campaigns and optimize ROI and paid lead generation.
  • Manage and oversee our SEO strategy to improve organic search visibility (including LLMs), drive site traffic, and increase organic lead generation.
  • Own and execute our Outbound demand-generation efforts across Apollo.io (or similar), email sequences, community outreach, and sponsored campaigns.
  • Track enquiries through our CRM (Pipedrive), optimizing high-potential leads with data-enriched profiling to create highly-qualified opportunities for the Sales team to close.

Analytics & Reporting
  • Build and maintain dashboards to track lead flow, campaign ROI, and impact of our marketing efforts across various channels.
  • Deliver weekly reporting to leadership with actionable insights and recommendations based on your interpretation of the data.

Content, Brand Communications, and Social Media
  • Oversee creation of compelling content (case studies, client success stories, monthly newsletters, blog posts, thought-leadership) across our platforms to position Moniker as the ‘go-to company’ for retreats and offsites.
  • Coordinate with Moniker’s social media team to set strategy, build out monthly content calendars, provide creative briefs, review content, and track performance.
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine messaging for both Moniker and the new business line, ensuring a consistent brand voice and visual storytelling tone across our website, social media profiles, and client-facing materials.

Partnerships & PR
  • Cultivate relationships with press, associations, and influencers in the events/retreat space.
  • Identify opportunities for co-marketing, media features, and speaking engagements.
  • Support Moniker’s visibility within relevant networks and communities within our client base.

Execution & 3rd Party Vendor Management
  • Manage and oversee any freelancers, 3rd party designers, and agencies as needed to ensure quality and accountability for their contributions. Over time, as the role expands, there may be an opportunity to bring additional support in-house via full-time hires reporting to the Marketing Manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Desired Background & Experience: You’ve got 5+ years of hands-on experience within a smaller (<50 employees), fast-growing company or scrappy startup that you were deeply involved in building from the ground up. You thrive in the kind of environment where people are looked at to be big contributors to the strategy and ideation process, but also expected to be accountable to see through the execution (whether by themselves, or overseeing a freelancer or agency).

Ideal Skillset & Marketing Tool Competencies:

  • CMS & Website Management: Webflow (this is a critical competency!) If you don’t already have a good handle of Webflow at the moment, you will be expected to learn it as a main priority within the first few weeks of your job)
  • CRM & Email Campaigns: Pipedrive, MailShake (or similar)
  • Lead Nurturing & Sequencing: Apollo.io, Reply.io, or similar outreach platforms
  • SEO & Keyword Research: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or Ubersuggest
  • Campaign Management & Performance Analytics: Google Ads (GA4), Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager & Sales Navigator
  • Lead Conversion Tracking: UTM parameters, goal/conversion setup in GA4, tracking pixels
  • Workflow Automations: Zapier or Make.com

You’ll be great in this role if:

You’ve got experience working in a fast-growing agency or helped build up the marketing strategy within a small/medium sized business. You’ve been part of a lean, high-performing team where you were responsible for owning and delivering marketing projects end-to-end. You thrive in an environment where you’re given some structure to your role, clarity on the desired outcomes (“what success looks like”), but with lots of leeway to introduce and execute initiatives of your own, without micro-management or close supervision.

You’re a strategic thinker who can also execute. You love coming up with marketing strategies and plans, presenting your ideas to others for feedback, and then rolling up your sleeves to make them happen.

You’re a Data & Analytics Nerd.  You’re not turned off by looking through gobs of data and analytics each week to see how campaigns are performing, and confident in your skills to make recommendations to change tack when you feel it’s necessary. You see experimentation and iteration as part of the fun.

You have super attention to detail. You pride yourself on thoroughness and accuracy. Whether it’s proofreading copy, tracking budgets & ROI, or analyzing performance data. You hold yourself to high standards, especially when it comes to brand consistency and deadlines, and are comfortable managing a lot of moving parts at once.

You’re driven and proactive. You have a solid work ethic and approach each situation with energy and enthusiasm, even when the task at hand isn’t the most glamorous. You approach every challenge committed and determined to achieve or exceed expectations, and you act with a sense of urgency.

You’re great at multitasking. You excel at juggling multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high standards across all tasks while effectively prioritizing and managing time. Think: being able to stay on top of the monthly newsletter, while also ensuring this week's Social Media content is on schedule, and poking your nose in our Google Ads dashboard to see which campaigns are performing best. Lots of balls in the air!

You’re creative and resourceful. When you don’t know how to do something, you figure it out—whether it’s learning a new platform, finding new vendors, or building a new process from scratch.
This role won’t be a good fit if:
  • You need a lot of structure or prefer a slow, steady pace where your to-do list is clearly defined for you.
  • You’d rather be handed a plan than help create one - brainstorming and presenting new ideas isn’t your thing, but working through a checklist is.
  • You find it tough to juggle multiple projects or keep details straight when things move quickly.
  • Data and experimentation make your eyes glaze over; you’d rather not dig into numbers or test new approaches yourself, rather be given a clearly defined plan to follow.
  • You like flying solo and don’t get much energy from collaborating or building relationships across a team.
  • You need constant direction or get discouraged when asked to figure things out, build processes, or learn as you go.

COMPENSATION:
The base starting salary will be CAD$80,000-$90,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and background, with potential to earn additional compensation through a commission structure (TBD) on any new business you bring in. Moniker also has a company-wide bonus structure in place with an opportunity to earn up to an additional CAD$8,000-$13,500 through performance-related bonuses and on-site staffing fees.
