Description
About the Company: Moniker is an award-winning agency in the Corporate Retreat, Offsite, and Incentive Travel space, with over 13 years of history and 20+ employees across Canada. We are expanding into a new segment of the Corporate Retreat market via a new business line aimed at Executive Retreats. The new brand aims to create meaningful retreat experiences for (i) Executive Teams, (ii) Boards, (iii) Leadership Groups, and (iv) Peer Advisory Forums from communities like YPO, EO, and Vistage. Our goal is to help leaders remove the logistical and planning tasks from the planning process, so they can focus their energy on the elements that will maximize connection, growth, and impact.
About the Role: As this will be a new business line within the Moniker brand umbrella, we're looking for someone with a strong builder's mindset who enjoys taking ideas and turning them into reality.
Working closely with Moniker's leadership team, you'll play a key role in bringing the Executive Retreats business and brand to life. You'll help build the operational foundation, expand our property and partner network, improve our planning platform, support sales efforts, and continuously refine the client experience as the business grows.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and isn't afraid to jump into new challenges. You'll take ownership of projects, identify opportunities for improvement, and help execute the initiatives that move the business forward. While you'll have significant autonomy in your day-to-day work, you'll collaborate closely with leadership on the overall direction and priorities of the business.
In short, you'll help build an exciting new business from the ground up, backed by the experience, resources, and support of an established company.
Business Growth & Brand Development
- Work alongside leadership to help launch and grow the Moniker Executive Retreats division with a thoughtful and well planned G2M strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve the client experience, internal processes, and overall scalability, and assist in bringing new ideas, products, and offerings to the target market.
- Research market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities to help inform future product and feature development.
Platform, Systems & Product Development
Collaborate with third-party AI developers and internal stakeholders to improve functionality and user experience of the internal dashboard and client-facing platform.
Maintain platform content, pricing, destination information, and planning resources.
Identify new features and improvements to enhance the product offering, and opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies, based on client feedback.
Sales & Client Service
- Help develop products to automate building of proposals, budgets, and client presentations, using A/B testing and client feedback to enhance the offering.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine the sales process and improve conversion rates over time.
- Support inbound sales inquiries and participate in discovery calls as needed (Client Service), ensuring every client interaction reflects the desired Moniker experience.
Partnerships & Portfolio Development
- Research, source, and onboard new retreat properties, villas, and experience partners to continuously expand and improve the villa and estate portfolio, based on market feedback.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and hospitality partners.
- Support commercial negotiations, preferred partnerships, and supplier agreements.
Business Operations
- Build and maintain documentation, workflows, and scalable operating procedures.
- Support CRM management, reporting, and business analytics.
- Take ownership of initiatives from concept through implementation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Has 5+ years of experience in business operations, hospitality, travel, consulting, startups, or a related field.
- Has experience helping launch, build, or grow a new product, service, or brand within an established business.
- Can independently drive projects from idea/vision through to execution.
- Is comfortable working in ambiguity and enjoys creating structure where it doesn't yet exist.
- Is comfortable building relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Enjoys technology & tinkering with AI, and learns new systems quickly.
YOU'LL BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE IF:
- You genuinely enjoy building something from the ground up, and all of the messiness that comes with it.
- You're energized by solving problems and figuring out ways to improve how things work.
- You're equally comfortable thinking about the big picture and 3 year vision, then rolling up your sleeves to execute what needs to get done this week to start down that path.
- You naturally spot opportunities and take initiative without waiting to be asked.
- You enjoy collaborating closely with leadership while owning your day-to-day work.
- You love variety and don't mind wearing multiple hats as the business evolves.
THIS ROLE WON'T BE A GREAT FIT IF:
- You prefer joining established businesses where the systems, processes, and playbooks are already built.
- You're looking for a role that is primarily focused on managing people. While leadership opportunities will grow over time, this role is first and foremost about building the business itself and ironing out the kinks, before we scale up and grow the team.
- You prefer working within clearly defined responsibilities and don't enjoy wearing multiple hats.
- You're uncomfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, or helping shape how a new business evolves.
- You dislike customer interaction or client support.
- You want full autonomy to set the company's vision and strategic direction. This role plays a significant part in building and growing the brand, but you'll do so in close collaboration with Moniker's leadership team.
